Oats geminate quickly in the cool season providing excellent browse in the fall. Oats are known to be hardy and can withstand heavy browsing and Southeastern winter climates to bound back in the spring making excellent nesting cover and food for upland birds. Plant oats with Strut & Rut Perennial Concentrate Mix at 50 lbs. per acre or separately at 100 lbs. per acre. Plant in zones 5-7 late Aug. through Oct. and zones 8-10 mid Sept. through Dec.
